What is an SMS gateway?
An SMS gateway is the connection point between your software or system and the mobile network. Via the gateway your application sends SMS messages without a SIM card or GSM modem — purely via the internet. Technically, an SMS gateway uses the SMPP protocol (Short Message Peer-to-Peer) to communicate with operators. You connect your software to our gateway via our SMS API. How does the Smstools SMS gateway work?
When you send an SMS via our API, our gateway automatically processes the message: validation, route selection and direct delivery to the operator. You receive a delivery report via webhook as soon as the message is delivered.
